2014 & 2015 Electrical Licenses Michigan accepted the 2011 NEC Code as of July 1, 2013. Here is what all this means to you: Electricians may renew electrical licenses in December of this year, without a Code Update Certificate. But . . at the end of 2014, a 2011 Code Update Certificate will be required to get a 2015 electrical license. For license renewal purposes, electricians have over a year to take a Code Update Class. Why rush? There is plenty of time to evaluate and compare: class cost, experience, reputation (and most important) class satisfaction. At this point, we suggest electricians wait before taking any class. Selecting the right class is a very important and very personal decision. Take your time and make the right decision, there is no need to rush. Our Online 2011 Code Update Classes will be open to Michigan registrations in a couple days.
